Uruguayan international Matías Vecino (34) announced his departure from Celta de Vigo this Friday via his social media, after reaching an agreement with the club to terminate the remaining year of his contract.

Vecino, signed in Lazio’s winter transfer window, concluded his spell at Balaídos after featuring in 12 official matches and 492 minutes. He explained that a minor physical issue that arose during pre-season prevented him from being available, prompting his decision to rescind the contract.

The former player thanked the club “from the bottom of his heart” for the affection he received in Vigo and wished Claudio Giráldez’s team “the greatest success”, hoping the season will be “better” than previous ones.
