Manchester United Confirms Loan Deal with Clauses
Manchester United has confirmed the loan of goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to Celta Vigo for the 2026/27 season. The Turkish goalkeeper could become a permanent player next summer, as an option to buy is included in the deal.
Bayindir, who turns 28 this year, has signed with the celestes and Celta Vigo will cover his wages during the loan period. Manchester United will receive performance-related bonuses and also includes a high percentage sell-on fee if the option to purchase is exercised.
The official statement from the Red Devils reads: "Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has agreed to join La Liga side Celta Vigo on loan for the 2026/27 season, subject to registration. The goalkeeper, who made his debut in United in 2024 and has played a total of 17 games so far, now links up with Os Celestes, who finished sixth in La Liga last season under head coach Claudio Giraldez and are set to compete in this season's UEFA Europa League."
Altay Bayindir Background
Bayindir started the previous campaign as first-choice goalkeeper when Ruben Amorim axed Andre Onana from his plans, but he lost his place to Senne Lammens and was not involved for the remainder of the season. The goalkeeper was signed by Manchester United from Fenerbahce for £4.3 million three years ago.
Altay Bayindir has played six games with Manchester United in the last season, his third term since joining the club in 2023. Following his debut against Newport County in 2024, Bayindir has made a total of 17 appearances.
