Celta Vigo Near Transfer Deal with Altay Bayindir on Loan
Manchester United and Celta Vigo have reached an agreement for goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to join the La Liga club on loan for the upcoming season. The transfer is now close to completion, with both clubs expected to exchange documents over the weekend before Bayindir travels to Spain next week.
Bayindir joined Manchester United from Fenerbahce in 2023 but has struggled to establish himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. His opportunities have become even more limited following changes to Michael Carrick’s goalkeeping department, with Senne Lammens remaining ahead of him and Karl Darlow added to provide more experience.

The 28-year-old's move to Spain should give him a better chance of playing regular first-team football. The agreement is in place, and only the remaining paperwork and formalities need to be completed before he arrives in Vigo next week.
Bayindir remains under contract at Old Trafford, so his longer-term future will be assessed once the loan ends. For now, the deal with Celta Vigo provides a sensible solution for both parties: Bayindir can compete for more regular minutes, while Carrick reduces the number of senior goalkeepers in his squad.
The Turkey international is expected to join Celta’s preparations for the new season and will be available for their upcoming matches.
