Celta Vigo starts its 2026/27 pre-season this Tuesday with the beginning of medical tests that will take place at the Celta Clinic until next Thursday.

What's happening in the pre-season?

The 17 footballers who were already on the squad last season, called up for the start of the pre-season, are: Hugo Sotelo, Iván Villar, Sergio Carreira, Pablo Durán, Iago Aspas, Hugo Álvarez, Yoel Lago, Miguel Román, Álvaro Núñez, Manu Fernández, Carlos Domínguez, Williot Swedberg, Ilaix Moriba, Javi Rueda, Ferran Jutglà, Matías Vecino and Andrei Radu.

Who will join the team?

The players who have recently finished their international commitments will join the work in a staggered manner. Javi Rodríguez and Jones El-Abdellaoui will join the group next Monday, while Carl Starfelt and Borja Iglesias, the latter still in competition, will do so in the coming weeks.

What's next for Celta Vigo?

Claudio Giráldez's team has confirmed three friendlies. The first will take place on July 18 against SC Braga, at the Estadio Municipal de Braga. Celta Vigo is currently in 6th place in La Liga with 54 points, 14 wins, 12 draws and 12 losses, and a goal difference of +5, after their last win on May 23, 2026, against Sevilla by 1-0.
