Manchester United Loan Altay Bayindir to Celta Vigo
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Celta de Vigo over a loan deal for goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, according to reports. The Spanish club are keen on the 28-year-old and have already agreed terms with Man Utd. Senne Lammens is currently the number one between the posts at Old Trafford under manager Michael Carrick.
Spanish journalist Alberto Bravo reported that Celta de Vigo has finalised a loan deal for Bayindir, stating: 'Celta Vigo has finalised – only minor details remain – its fourth summer signing for the first team. It’s goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.' The report also noted that negotiations between the three parties have progressed satisfactorily in recent days and that a loan agreement was reached in the last few hours.
Potential Replacement: Orlando Gill
In light of this move, Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Paraguay international goalkeeper Orlando Gill from San Lorenzo. The Red Devils were impressed with Gill’s performance for Paraguay at the 2026 World Cup and have enquired about a potential deal for the 26-year-old, according to his agent Mario Jara.
Jara told DSports Radio: 'We are in talks with English clubs as well as clubs in Germany. There were enquiries with Manchester United. We only received two concrete offers. The sale is close, the time is right.' Gill’s agent also highlighted that the 26-year-old is prepared and capable of playing in any league.
The move to loan Bayindir out comes amid an oversupply of goalkeepers at Old Trafford, with Senne Lammens being the undisputed number one. Darlow, Karl Darlow, Tom Heaton, and Dermot Mee are also on the books, making it difficult for Bayindir to secure a regular playing time.
