The marathon of Antañón and Anxo ends with La Rojita in Wales. Two of the Celta Vigo's top prospects, Andrés Antañón and Anxo Rodríguez, will play in the U19 European Championship in Wales starting this Sunday after achieving promotion with Fortuna.

The last challenge of a marathon season for two pearls of the Celta Vigo's youth academy arrives with the Spanish U19 team. The central defender Anxo Rodríguez and the midfielder Andrés Antañón, key players in the playoff that ended with the historic promotion of Fortuna to Segunda División, are counting the hours for the start of the U19 European Championship in Wales.
Why does it matter for Celta Vigo?
The Spanish U19 team, led by Paco Gallardo, is seeking in British territory, in addition to the title, the ticket to the U20 World Cup next year. Despite being one of the big favorites, they will not have it easy from the group stage, having been drawn alongside the host team, Germany and Denmark.
What comes next?
This is not the first continental experience of the season for the Vigo-born Antañón. The midfielder traveled with the first team in the Europa League, although he did not have any minutes. Claudio Giráldez did use him in the first round of the Copa del Rey and in two league matches: he came on as a substitute in Girona and was a starter against Oviedo in Balaídos.
The midfielder scored the equalizing goal against Europa in Barcelona and connected with Hugo González in the first two goals of the team coached by Fredi Álvarez against Ponferradina in Vigo. In total, his campaign with Celta ended with 33 matches.

Also belonging to the 2007 generation is the Pontevedra-born Anxo. The central defender has been the revelation of the team in his first season with Fortuna. During the league in Primera Federación, he participated in 35 matches, all as a starter. That regularity continued in the playoff, signing a full 90 minutes in the four matches, including the extra time of the semifinal. A very reliable defender who debuted with Spain U19 in January. Four months earlier, in September, it was Antañón's turn. Now the two aim to put the icing on a dream campaign.
